  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF 6/10)

Experience and Requirements:

  • Preferably 2 years€™ post qualification experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of various analytical techniques
  • Must have a sound knowledge of International Quality Standards
  • Computer Literate (SAP and MS-Office)
  • Knowledge of the Oxygen Steel Making or Rolling Mill production environments would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the following drive and control systems will be an advantage
    • Rockwell Equipment
    • ABB
    • GE

Key Performance Areas:

  • Improve the availability and reliability of the plant
  • Improve and execute maintenance plans
  • Manage capital, EM, spares and planned maintenance
  • Maintenance and development of control software and SCADA systems
  • Maintenance and development of analogue and digital AC and DC drives
  • Root cause analysis of failures
  • Provide technical support to production team
  • Conduct electrical and instrumentation plant improvement projects
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives
  • New technology introduction in the Level 0 & 1 arena
  • Independent technical problem solving in the electrical systems and instrumentation Level 0 & 1 areas
  • Training of staff
  • Assist artisans with complex Instrument and Electrical problem solving
  • Conduct SHERQ related tasks.
